Kara Sammons, MD, FAAP

Dr. Sammons was born in Prestonsburg, KY and attended undergrad at Eastern Kentucky University. She graduated with a degree in Biology and a minor in Psychology. Dr. Sammons attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2003 and completed her residency in Pediatrics in 2010. She was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2010.

Dr. Sammons joined East Louisville Pediatrics in 2010 straight out of residency. Dr. Sammons and her husband Colin have a daughter Ryan. In her free time, she enjoys movies, shopping, and spending time with her two nephews in Knoxville, TN. Dr. Sammons is a huge sports enthusiast from tennis to NFL football to horse racing. Some of her favorite teams include the Louisville Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Texas Rangers, and especially the New England Patriots.
